April Meeting of the English Book Club

The fourth meeting of the spring takes place on 21.4. when the book club discusses Too Much Happiness by Alice Munro.

The English Book Club’s 2021 spring reading list covers a range of genres and styles. The first four titles are all by Nobel Laureates: we started with Samuel Beckett’s absurd, French-original play Waiting for Godot, and then move to Doris Lessing’s The Golden Notebook. March was for J. M. Coetzee’s Disgrace, while in April we read short stories for the first time in the book club’s history: Too Much Happiness by Alice Munro. Something different ends the season, as in May we enter the urban fantasy of China Miéville’s Kraken.
