Finnbrit Museum Club – October 2022

Finnbrit Museum Club

The aim of the group is to visit museums and exhibitions in the capital area and socialise.  This is an opportunity to meet like-minded English-speaking enthusiasts of the arts and culture.

We will visit the museums as a group, with a guided tour in English. After the tour, those who wish to can move on to a local venue for an “after-tour” drink and conversation (which doesn’t have to be about art or culture!)

October – Navigating North at Kiasma

On Tuesday, 11 October 2022. The guided tour starts at 16.30.

Participants pay for their own entry ticket: Participants are recommended to have the Museum Card which gives free entry to all the venues. The guided tour is funded by Finnbrit. The tours are available to Finnbrit members only and all visitors must have a valid Finnbrit membership to take part.

The body of works donated by the Jenny and Antti Wihuri Foundation to the City of Rovaniemi is one of the most significant contemporary art collections in Finland. Comprising more than 3,400 artworks, the collection offers a broad view of Finnish contemporary art from the 1960s to the present day.

The upcoming exhibition in Kiasma presents a broad selection of works from the collection, with a special focus on artists who were either born in northern Finland or who live and work there today.

Hosted by Penny. Booking required. Finnbrit reserves the right to postpone or cancel the event if the number of enrolments is low.
