Finnbrit Goes to the Theatre – Purge by Sofi Oksanen

Thursday, 19 November 2026
19:00
Venue: NoName Theatre

Purge brings to life Estonia under Stalin, just after the fall of the Third Reich, when the land must be purified – no matter what the cost – of all the undesirables; and contrasts it with the same land, the same farm, just after the fall of Communism, when another purification is taking place.

Purge is written by Sofi Oksanen, translated by Eva Buchwald, directed by Adrian Goldman, and it is a co-production by Finn-Brit Players & Passport Productions.

The play will be followed by a chat at a nearby hostelry, hosted by Finnbrit’s Laura Karppinen.

Please register for the event here on the Finnbrit website, and we will email you a 20% discount code for the purchase of your ticket which you can then buy online.

Venue: NoName Theatre, Hietaniemenkatu 7 B, Helsinki.

The doors will open 30 minutes before the show starts. Let’s meet at the theatre then. Please arrive in good time, as the stage setup means that latecomers cannot be admitted.
