Finnbrit Film Club – October 2026

The Finnbrit Film Club gets together irregularly to watch a film that was made in Finland, comes with English subtitles, and is free to show without a licence fee.

The film starts at 18:00. Please arrive in time for the popcorn and a good seat. After the film, please stay and share your thoughts on the people and the places of the film and if and how they differ from the Finland you know. What would life have been like for those people in those places? What has changed? But of course also – what did you think of the film?

The October 2026 film is: Inspector Palmu’s Mistake (1960)

This Agatha Christie/Hercule Poirot-style murder mystery contains a great deal of dialogue, so there is a fair bit of reading to do if you do not follow the Finnish-language audio.

Please note that the film has not been chosen with a particular audience in mind, has not been previewed for suitability, and, due to its age, may contain stereotypes or negative depictions of people, as well as words or events that can be found offensive. It may also contain sex, violence, or horror.
