Finnbrit Goes to the Theatre – ‘1984’
Wednesday, 12 November 2025
starting at 19:00 ~ 2 hours (no intermission)
Venue: NoName Theatre, Hietaniemenkatu 7 B, Helsinki
Come along as Finnbrit goes to the theatre to see 1984, written by George Orwell & adapted by H.S. Fernandez.
“In this thought-provoking adaptation of George Orwell‘s 1984, director, playwright, and acting coach H. Sven Fernandez invites us to confront the inhumanity of modern surveillance societies through the eyes of those who fall prey to its dehumanizing grip. Through Winston’s struggle to reclaim his lost memories, we are reminded of the danger of becoming complacent in the face of oppression and accepting it in any form, amount or capacity.”
This Finn-Brit Players’ theatre production will be followed by a chat at a nearby hostelry, hosted by Laura Karppinen.
Please register for the event and we will email you a discount code for 20% off the price of entry. Then buy your own ticket here.
The doors will open 30 minutes before the show starts. Let’s meet at the theatre then. Please arrive in good time – due to the setup of the stage, latecomers cannot be admitted.
