Spoken Words: talk by author, translator Kasper Salonen
Friday, 13 November 2026
18:00-20:00
You are warmly invited to attend a talk given by bilingual freelancer Kasper Salonen. He is an author, translator, educator, poet, and cultural activist living in Espoo.
Over more than fifteen years, Kasper has been involved in diverse cultural and linguistic work that spans multiple industries. His talk will provide an overview into his roots and early childhood in London, his education and freelance career in Finland, and his catalogue of published books, articles, and other creative media.
Among Kasper’s most recent publications is a world-first in poetry translation. His talk will include an introduction to his book Unspoken Words: Selected Poems of Arto Melleri (Enostone 2025) as well as a performance of his translations and original spoken word poetry.
Kasper believes in the sacredness of nature and consciousness, and in the power of art, language, and literature to both access the comprehension of human emotions and to overthrow systems of oppression, supremacy, and war.
